Description of the problemBought this 2013 rogue about 18 months ago. I travel for work so i have put alot of miles in a short time. I have had all the maintenance done by a local shop. Recently on a long four hour drive on the interstate. The car would not shift down and went into its safe mode. I could not even get it to back out of a slanted parking lot that i had pulled in to drop my wife off. I had to let it cool for 30 minutes. I took it to the dealer today and they said it was a known problem with these cvt transmissions and it would need a transmission cooler and valve block installed. They quoted me a cost of $2600. 00 for the repair. I think this is ridiculous that i should be charged this when there own service technician stated that nissan has released several faulty transmissions and it is hard to get nissan to do anything about it. I tried calling the nissan affairs. They are suppose to call me back but from everything i have read i do not think they will do anything.
