Description of the problemWith around 60k miles i noticed that when driving extended distances, my nissan rogue would not allow me accelerate pass 65mph. I had never experienced this before so i took it to my local dealership to have it evaluated and see if any computer codes popped up. Nothing came up. This issue kept going on so i took it back a year later around 79k miles and suddenly some codes appeared for cvt issues. They said i would need an entirely new cvt. I have been fighting this with nissan and have found no resolution. I don't feel like this is something that i should have to cover seeing as though there was an extended nissan warranty issued of 120,000 miles/10 years for 2010 and earlier models. Obviously, they haven't fixed the issues because there are hundreds of owners having this same issue. Google it or search nissan forums. It's not fair to the consumer. I am a single mom and still have over $16k to pay on this vehicle. It is my only means of transportation. I was driving out of town for the christmas holiday with my 4 year old daughter in the car and the transmission went into full limp mode on the interstate jeopardizing our safety. My car ended up being left on the side of the road. Now i have to figure out how to tow it back to my local dealership when finances are already tight during this time of the year in a one income household. Nissan seems uninterested in issuing a new extended warranty for these vehicles but maybe this is something nhtsa can push for. Someone has to look out for the consumer. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
