Description of the problem | I was travelling on the highway up a long incline when the accelerator pedal stopped working and the car began to decelerate. I was able to pull of the road. I turned the car off, then restarted it and tried to go and the accelerator pedal would not engage. There were no hazard lights illuminated and car temperature was fine. Approximately 15 minutes the car star working normally and i got back on the highway. The car drove okay for a while but on the next big hill the accelerator failed again, this time the cvt (transmission) indicator light came on. After waiting another 15 minutes, the car was still not safe to drive at highway speeds, the accelerator was sluggish and unreliable. I was able to get home by driving slowly on back roads, but will not be able to safely drive it again until this issue is resolved. |
