Description of the problemThis is not an incident report, but rather a general inquiry as to whether or not there have been an unusually large number of cracked windshields reported by other nissan owners or repairmen. The new nissan i purchased appears to have a windshield design that lends itself to stress cracks easily! This vehicle is not yet 7 months old and yet the windshield will have to be replaced because it has cracks that radiated outward from tiny pecks that apparently were caused by pebbles flung from the road surface. This is the first time i have owned a vehicle that cannot sustain a "bulls eye" or "star crack" and the crack is contained until i can get it to a windshield place to have the dent filled. Could this be because nissan has lowered the stress factor or something on the production of this safety glass? Is the windshield under a lot of stress because of the curvature or design on this model? Will this lead to catastrophic failure??
