Description of the problem | On april 11, 2018, i was driving my brand new 2018 nissan rogue. I had just gotten off the highway, and was driving straight along a city street when suddenly the brakes slammed on, thrusting me forward and giving me a near heart attack. I could have been killed or seriously injured, had this happened under different circumstances. The emergency notice on the dashboard read "malfunction! - see driver manual." i had the foresight to take pictures of the dashboard, which i am including in this complaint. The icon was that of two cars colliding. There had been no car in front of me and nothing to collide with. The manual indicated that the emergency brake system had malfunctioned. Needless to say, i am not aching to drive another nissan ... Ever. I filed a report with nissan corporate consumer affairs the same evening. The car had 600 miles on it. I had the dealership tow the car back to their location the next day. To date, i have no car and no answers. Neither nissan, nor the dealership is claiming responsibility, and neither believes they owe me any kind of accommodations. Furthermore, in researching this very website, i came across five (5) other complaints that were identical to mine, and which happened within the past month or two. This is undoubtedly a systemic problem with the car. If possible, i would like to connect with these other consumers who are experiencing this problem. After nissan followed up a few times to tell me that my case was "under review," nissan's final response on friday, april 20, 2018, was to tell me to call "the better business bureau." they even offered to provide me with the phone number! Meanwhile, i have no car, a refusal for accommodations from either party, and legal bills underway. Nice! |
