Description of the problem | The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system malfunctioned, causing a sudden and abrupt stop for no reason. The vehicle was in motion on a paved secondary street in a line of vehicles in an area undergoing road repair in the opposite lane. We were the first vehicle in line moving straight ahead at approximately 5 mph. My wife and i were thrown forward against the seat belt/shoulder harnesses. No injuries. No collision with the vehicle behind us. The brakes remained locked for a few second before we could move forward. |
