Defect summary	Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. The rear suspension crossmember may be missing spot welds.
Consequence summary	This condition can result in structural cracks in the body, and reduced crash protection in the event of a rear impact.
Corrective action	Dealers will inspect the vehicles for any missing welds, and will have structural rivets installed in place of the missing welds.
Recall notes	Owner notification began february 2, 1999. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.
