Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. While unloading the vehicle and getting a three-year old out of the vehicle, the child's leg hit the gear lever and the vehicle immediately rolled backwards into traffic, with the child inside. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle did not crash and was not damaged. The contact stated that the vehicle was in park without the key in the ignition. The contact stated that there was no warning indicator. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who stated that the brake shift interlock bracket needed to be replaced. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not offer any explanation. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 103,473. |
