Description of the problem | My 2014 ram 1500 had to have its def (diesel exhaust fluid) tank replaced. I was told since it is an emissions component it is not under warranty. It cost over $2000 to replace this tank only because the sending unit was inoperable. The sending unit is integral to the tank so you could not replace the sending unit. The sending unit would not register a full tank. When the unit indicated the tank was empty (when it was not) the vehicle is required to go into limp mode(3-5mph). This could be very dangerous when driving long distances in remote areas. |
