Description of the problem | When the engine is cold, acceleration from a stop is almost non existent for roughly 3-4 seconds. Pulling out in to normal traffic is dangerous as the vehicle does not perform anywhere near the way it does once warmed up. My servicing dealer and chrysler corporate told me that there is a issue with excessive emissions from my 2017 ram 1500 ecodiesel when cold which required them to inhibit fuel flow to the engine until the engine reached a temperature of 157 degrees. This is a serious safety concern as the truck seems to ignore the drivers desire to accelerate. I've come close to being rear-ended on more than one occasion because the truck would not accelerate at more than what seems to be an idol for several seconds. I've owned this truck for about 1. 5 years and still there is no solution to correct this problem. It is my hope that federal action will spur a solution to this problem. |
