Description of the problem | Fuel sensor failure: as soon as the fuel level in the tank goes below half tank while driving, the sensor fails and shows no fuel in the tank. Driver has no accurate idea of the correct fuel amount until you refill the tank to above the half tank level. There is a recall that exist for other models of 2017 dodge ram 1500 trucks. (recall # 17v434000). My vehicle did not have the recall listed under its criteria. An attempt was made to get this recall applied to my vehicle at a local dealership. However, the service manager would not, or could not, fix this problem on my vehicle without an applied recall. This vehicle was purchased nov 26th, 2017. The 1st occurrence of this malfunction was in june 2018. |
