Description of the problem | While towing approximately 11000 lbs, the vehicle began bucking aggressively while in 4th and 5th gear. We were towing three horses and had to slow the vehicle and downshift into third gear to get the bucking to stop. Also, the vehicle will not up-shift after utilizing the transmission braking feature when descending a grade while towing. You have to manually disable the tow haul mode and wait for transmission to shift. Chrysler is aware of the problem, has had many customer complaints, and has no fix at this time other than tow in third gear. Beware when towing livestock or towing on slippery roads, this transmission bucking problem is severe enough to cause injury to your animals or cause you to lose control of your vehicle. It feels like the transmission slips in and out of gear. This problem is well documented and and acknowledged by the dealer and chrysler. |
