Description of the problem | Your recall remedy for 19v-021 is unacceptable. The solution of welding the drag link adjuster nuts to the sleeve, permanently renders the vehicle from being properly aligned forever. The only way around this is to break the welds, adjust the steering sleeve and then welding the nuts again. This is an unacceptable solution as most alignment shops do not have welding equipment to do this, thus potentially placing the vehicle occupants in danger again. Your agreed solution does absolutely nothing to address permanent fix and was nothing more than a way to mitigate cost for fca. This permanent fix needs to be installation of the redesigned part or reimbursement for the purchase/installation of an aftermarket part that will not suffer the same potential failure as the part under recall. |
