Description of the problem | While driving in a 40mph zone, the electronic throttle control (etc)light came on and the truck accelerated uncontrollably. After braking and getting the vehicle stopped, it was shut off and restarted. The etc light went out but the check engine light came on. Made an appointment with the dealer the next day and while en route to the dealer, the etc light came on, this time resulting in a power loss. It happened while entering a highway ramp, and could only get the vehicle speed gradually up to 40. Dealer attempted to clear codes and repair, but kept vehicle overnight for a test drive. During the dealer test drive, the etc light came on and the problem occurred again. So far there hasn't been a resolution, but the vehicle is unsafe to drive. It is a brand new 2019, with only approximately 400 miles on it, owned less than a week. |
