Description of the problem	I drove the vehicle and the tailgate was not properly latched. The vehicle is equipped with a tailgate ajar warning light, but it is disabled by the manufacturer. The tailgate popped open while driving and items fell from my truck bed onto the road creating a significant safety hazard for other drivers. Because there warning light is purposely disabled, i was unaware of the hazard until i stopped the truck at my destination. When contacting the manufacturer, i was told they would not fix the warning light. This feature is listed on my equipment list for the vehicle when purchased but purposely disabled by ram. It creates a significant hazard for drivers because unknowing to the driver of the truck, the tailgate can pop open allowing items to fall on the road. Whats worse, is that the manufacturer explained to me that they disabled the warning because they also have an issue where the warning light would come on because the tailgate shows as unlatched, even though it is latched correctly. I find it disturbing that the manufacturer would disable a safety feature for convenience.
