Description of the problem | The passenger side 'occupant detection sensor module' is faulty. This module has been recalled on similar subaru vehicles recently. The module detects an occupant in the passenger seat, and either activates or deactivates the supplemental restraint system. At approximately 135k miles, the sensor began to routinely turn the airbag off when the passenger seat was occupied. This occurs while the vehicle is at interstate speed to idle speed. Subaru (at the dealership in grand junction, co) has performed a diagnosis and provided me this information. |
