Description of the problem | Toyota camry hybrid has an insufficient warning label on the high voltage service plug. The small type and the tiny international symbols are not recognizable until you take cap out to read the message. After i removed the cap to read the message, i discovered it was a warning message not to remove the cap. I was indeed fortunate not to have been killed or seriously injured. As it was, i disabled my car and had to have it towed to the dealership to have the service module reset. After altering my travel plans and towing the car to the dealership, i discovered that the problem could have been resolved by pushing the cap down and driving the car to the dealership for reprogramming. If the dealer or the manufacturer had given me the information i requested, i could have avoided considerable wasted time and expense. |
