Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2009 toyota camry. She received a recall notice for the repair of the accelerator petal (nhtsa campaign id number: 10v017000: vehicle speed control: accelerator pedal). Following repairs, while driving at speeds of 60 mph, the vehicle abnormally accelerated. She attempted to depress the brake pedal, to no avail. She then put the gear selector in neutral and was able to cease the acceleration. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle had not experienced the acceleration before having the recall repairs performed. No additional repairs were made to the vehicle. The failure and current mileages were 10,400. |
