Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2009 toyota camry. The contact received a recall notice regarding the nhtsa campaign id number 10v017000 (accelerator pedal). The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for the recall service repair; however, after the remedy repair was performed the engine revved with a sudden acceleration. The brakes were depressed which allowed the vehicle to slow down. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on a separate occasion. The technician stated that the failure occurred as a result of the software upgrade. The vehicle also accelerated for a period of 20-30 minutes immediately after the recall repair was performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified regarding the recall remedy repair. The current mileage was 8,050. The failure mileage was 7,554. |
