Description of the problemI am having a toyota camry 2009. When i was on cruise control and runs at 60miles/hr, the rpm is about 1500 rpm. During the cruise control, the rpm may accelerate to about 3000 rpm in less than 10 seconds, then immediately the rpm goes back to 1500 rpm again. During this rpm change, the speed reading remains at 60 miles/hr. The incidents happens unexpected. It seems happen more often when on up hill even with very mild slope. It also happens when it runs on very flat road. When the incident happens, it feel that the vehicle is out of control and feel very jerky. It's quite scary. I complained this to my toyota dealer with my regular maintainence quite some months ago, they said they would look into it. After quite some hours, they said that they could not replicate the incident and can not do anything about it. The way they test is to drive in metro area for about 10 mins, which is obviously not the situation i am complaining about. They said they would not do a cruise control driver for 2 hours according to their test driver procedure. They even do not able to escalate this issue to toyota manufactures! Such situation happens when the car comes to me brand new. I feel desperate to communicate my concerns through toyota dealer yet every day i have such security concerns. I hope you guys can seriously look into this issue with the recent toyota recall. The floor mat explaination is rediculous and the recent gas pedal is probably still not the root cause. Please take this concerns seriously and i hope that such concerns may become public and aware to the consumers and toyota. A fix is a must. Thank you. Btw, the approximate incident date in this complaint is the last time that i dared to use cruise control. Such incident actually happens almost everytime when i used cruise control.
