Description of the problem | There was a loud, continuous "clicking" noise coming from the driver's side all along where the roofline meets the side panels. This is from a structural defect due to a lack of welding in those areas. While in for inspection, i was loaned three additional tiguans and they all made the clicking sound. It's a heat-sensitive issue, occurring when the temperature reaches at least 45 degrees and the metal expands. After four attempts to repair the vehicle by installing clips, wedges, and felt padding, volkswagen agreed to re-purchase the vehicle from me. There are numerous complaints online about this issue, with vw repurchasing several vehicles. The clicking is a continuous issue whenever the vehicle is in motion. |
